E-tourist route Siemens-Gadabay created in Azerbaijan Azerbaijan has presented a new electronic travel route.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Institute informs that presentation of e-tourist information system of Siemens-Gadabay route to be connected to GOMAP.AZ system has been held in the university with participation of a group of scientists and ATI students of Germany’s Jade university within the framework of project "Use of geo-information system in tourism and regional tourism development".
"It is no an accident that the German scientists have chosen the western region of Azerbaijan, in particular Gadabay district, as the object of their research. In late XIX century and early XX century, the Siemens brothers used four bridges as the railway for industrial exploitation of copper mines in Gadabay. Over time, these roads have lost their original function," Institute’s rector Eldar Aslanov said.
He pointed out that connection of the historical administrative building of Gadabay copper mine of the Siemens brothers and narrow-gauge railways, showing the level of development of German industry during this period, to system GOMAP.AZ, creation of a 3D-model can promote to inflow of tourists to this region of Azerbaijan, especially tourists from Germany.
